CACC Fifteen - Now The NC 21!

Organized by Adoption Option

The CACC 15 is now the NC 21!

Great news! Thanks to the overwhelming response we got rescuing the CACC 15, we were able to rescue another six dogs and cats from death row in Columbus and Bladen County, NC! Our grand total is now up to twelve lab puppies, a heartworm positive boxer, a bulldog mix, a mama cat and three kittens, an adult cat, a mama left behind after a rescue took her puppies but not her, and, perhaps saddest of all, the sweetest bulldog-pit bull mix who came into the shelter so emaciated that she was unable to lift her own head. Due to this, we have increased the Chipin goal to $2000, as our estimated vet bills are now expected to be between $3500-$4000. Please continue to share our ChipIn, and don't forget to check out two photos of our new death row beauties! Thanks so much for all you do,

Help! Funds Needed To Vet Fifteen Death Row Dogs Pulled From Columbus County, NC
Hello all! On 3/29, we pulled twelve lab puppies, a sweet emaciated boxer, and a bulldog mix from Columbus County Animal Control in Whiteville, NC. All were slated to die within 24 hours by the "heartstick" method. At the last minute, we unexpectedly also rescued a sweet collie mama whose pups had been adopter or rescued while she was callously left behind to die on death row. Unable to let such a sweet face die while her puppies went onto their new lives, we added her to our rescue program. We gratefully received enough donations to cover all fifteen pull fees, however, we are now looking forward to the future, which will include getting all pups spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, on flea/heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. The adults will need to be heartworm tested and treated if positive. Our of our three adult dogs, we are awaiting the heartworm results of two, and the sweet boxer has already tested a high positive. She will require an expensive $700 heart worm treatment in order to save her life. With this in mind, we are expecting our vet bills from this pull alone to reach a minimum of $3000 for all basic vet care and heart worm treatment - and that is if none of the puppies get sick, and none of the other adults are heartworm positive. We have started this chip in with the hopes that generous people out there will help us offset some of the cost of this necessary, life saving care. Donations can also be called in straight to vet at 919-542-1975, under the Stephanie Wilson/Adoption Option account. Please don't hesitate to email with any questions at savecats(a)riseup.net, and don't forget to check out the photos of some of the cuties that we saved below. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far in saving these irreplaceable lives.

Thanks for all you do,
