Help Us Give Peeps A Christmas Miracle

Meet Peeps. Peeps is a beautiful, four year old English Staffy Bull Terrier who was pulled at the last minute from the Warren, Ohio shelter. She was due to die an agonizing death inside of a gas chamber. We were unable to let such a sweet, beautiful girl die, so we pulled her to safety and took her into rescue. She was spayed, treated for heartworms, and transported to our rescue in North Carolina, where she has been in foster care since April. Last Saturday, she began having signs of a possible health issue. We took her to multiple vets, all of whom prescribed various medications and told us not to worry. Two days later, Peeps was not doing any better. We rushed her to the NC State School of Veterinary Medicine, where it was determined that our sweet girl has somehow contracted canine distemper. We are unsure of how this happened, as Peeps has been vaccinated multiple times against the disease, and is current on her all vaccines. She has been in their 24 hour ER ward for two days, where she is stable, and slowly showing signs of improvement. Things are touch and go, however, after rescuing this sweet girl from death once already, we are unwilling to let her go without a fight. Unfortunately, the best care isn't cheap, and her vet bill is at $2500 and climbing. We have rescued 210 animals from death row this year, and our funds are entirely depleted. We are in urgent need of help to save sweet Peeps. Please contribute what you can, and please pass our ChipIn on. Donations can also be called in directly to the vet. Their phone number is (919) 513-6911, and Peeps is listed under the name Andrew Shoffner. Please help us give Peeps the Christmas miracle that she deserves. Thank you for helping us help her.
